This shrine looks down over Mount St Mary's University and Seminary from the mountain behind the school. St Elizabeth Ann Seton and her nuns lived here for a time beginning in 1809.

This golden statue of Our Lady can be seen on the mountain from miles away as you are approaching Emmitsburg. It is lit up at night and is a beacon in the darkness.
