Since this church was the first cathedral of the Richmond diocese, each bishop's coat of arms is hung throughout the church. You can see two of them on either side of the doorway in the picture below.
This historic church was closed in 1995 as a parish. St James in Charles Town, WV now oversees it and one Mass is offered here every Sunday. The church is up the side of the mountain and overlooks the town. There is an incredible view of the mountains where Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia meet and the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers merge.
